How a Weidian parcel actually reaches you

Every international Weidian order is two separate shipments, and almost all the confusion comes from people expecting one.

Leg 1 — inside China. The seller posts your item by Chinese domestic courier to your shopping agent’s warehouse. This is the only shipping the Weidian seller does, and it is cheap or free because it is a domestic parcel. Typically two to seven days.

At the warehouse. The agent receives it, checks it against your order and photographs it. Leg 2 — China to you. When you are ready, the agent packs your items into one parcel, you choose a shipping method and pay for it, and an international carrier takes it from there. Typically five to fifteen days by air express.

Why your Weidian tracking number “stopped”

This is the single most common Weidian shipping question, and the answer is reassuring: nothing is wrong.

The tracking number the seller gives you is a domestic Chinese tracking number. It covers Leg 1 only. When the parcel is delivered to the agent’s warehouse, that number has done its job and stops updating — permanently. It will never show movement toward your country, because it was never tracking a journey to your country.

You get two tracking numbers per order, and only the second one goes abroad. How long the whole thing takes

The stage people underestimate is consolidation. If you buy four items and one seller takes three weeks, your parcel waits three weeks. That is a choice you are making, not a delay in the system — and it is usually the right choice, because one parcel is far cheaper than four.

What international shipping costs

Shipping is priced on chargeable weight, which is whichever is greater: the parcel’s actual weight, or its volumetric weight.

Volumetric weight is calculated from the box, commonly:

length × width × height (cm) ÷ 5000 = volumetric kg

This catches people out constantly. A padded winter jacket might weigh 0.8 kg on a scale but occupy a box that computes to 10 kg volumetric — and you pay for 10. Weidian is full of exactly this kind of item: outerwear, hoodies, sneakers in their boxes, plush goods.

• Consolidate. One parcel of five items nearly always beats five parcels, because each parcel carries its own base cost and its own dimensional penalty.

The general shape, which holds in most places:

• Consumption tax (VAT / GST) usually applies from a low value or from the first unit of currency. In the EU, VAT applies from the first euro. The UK works similarly.
