Best Chinese Running Shoes (2026): The Brands, the Models and How to Buy the China Versions
The Chinese running shoes worth buying in 2026, from Li-Ning's Feidian and Red Hare to Anta's C202, and how to buy the China versions from the brands' official Tmall stores.
The best Chinese running shoes right now come from five established brands, Li-Ning, Anta, Xtep, 361° and Qiaodan, plus a few running-focused newcomers such as BMAI, Do-Win and Dynafish. For racing, the names that keep coming up are Li-Ning’s Feidian 6 Elite, Anta’s C202 line and Xtep’s 160X. For fast training runs, the Li-Ning Red Hare Pro 9. For everyday miles, Anta’s Zone 2 90 and the Dynafish Xiaonian.
Buying them is the harder part. Most of these shoes are sold mainly in China, and the few with a US store cost more there and come in fewer colorways. The full range is on each brand’s official store on Tmall, and you can buy from it through a shopping agent.
Why runners outside China started paying attention
Chinese brands build performance shoes from the same materials as Western ones: PEBA and TPEE foams, carbon plates, and CPU outsoles. According to The Atlantic, the foams come from Shincell, which also makes midsoles for Adidas and Puma; outsoles and uppers come from factory clusters nearby in Fujian and Guangdong. What differs is how the shoes sell: mostly online, with new versions arriving fast and prices cut 30 percent or more almost immediately, then lowered again months later.
Selemon Barega, the Tokyo Olympic 10,000 m champion, won the 2025 Seville Marathon in 2:05:15 in Li-Ning’s Feidian 5 Elite, three days after signing with the brand. Outside’s Scott Douglas ran more than 1,000 miles in 30 Chinese models in 2026 and wrote that several were among the best shoes he had owned in 47 years of running.
The brands to know
Li-Ning (李宁)
Founded in 1990 by the Olympic gymnast Li Ning. The running lines worth knowing: 飞电 (Feidian) for racing, 赤兔 (chìtù, sold abroad as Red Hare) for fast training and long runs, and 超轻 (chāoqīng, Super Light) for light daily running. Li-Ning listings are full of the character 䨻 (bèng), the brand’s name for its foam, sold abroad as Boom; 超䨻 is Super Boom.
Anta (安踏)
The biggest Chinese sportswear company, and one of the largest sportswear groups in the world. Its running range centers on the C202 marathon line, including the C202 7, which Anta developed with Kenenisa Bekele, and the lighter C202 G9 2 racer. Anta runs a US online store and opened its first North American shop in Beverly Hills in February 2026.
Xtep (特步)
Based in Xiamen and focused on running since 2015; Xtep says it sponsors more marathons in mainland China than any other brand. The 160X is its racing line, and Xtep says 160X shoes have carried 141 Chinese athletes to 620 titles as of 2025. At the other end, the Qingyun 2.0 is a heavy, soft shoe for recovery days.
361° (361度)
One of the two Chinese brands with its own US online store; Anta is the other. Its Flame line is known for stability: Doctors of Running calls the Flame 5 one of the steadiest carbon racers it has tested. The Miro Nude ST is its versatile trainer.
Qiaodan (中乔体育)
A Chinese company from Jinjiang, Fujian, with no connection to Michael Jordan or Nike’s Jordan brand. After losing a name-rights case to Michael Jordan in a Chinese court, it changed its company name from 乔丹体育 to 中乔体育 (Zhōngqiáo Tǐyù) in January 2021, and it’s still called Qiaodan. Its 飞影 (Feiying) race line is the flagship.
BMAI, Do-Win and Dynafish
Smaller running-focused brands that shoe geeks rate highly. BMAI (必迈) makes the Jingtan 3.0 Turbo, a carbon racer with a ride reviewers say feels close to a normal trainer. Do-Win (多威), founded in 1983, makes the Speedster 3.0, a plated racer built to last. Dynafish is a newer running-only brand; its Xiaonian (小鲶) is the unplated trainer people call a bargain super shoe.
The models worth buying
The Chinese name is what you search for on Tmall; the English name is what reviewers use. Race means a carbon-plated race-day shoe, tempo a faster shoe for workouts, daily an everyday trainer.
| Brand | Model (Chinese / English) | Type | Why it’s on the list |
|---|---|---|---|
| Li-Ning | 飞电6 ELITE / Feidian 6 Elite | Race | Li-Ning’s marathon racer, released February 2026. Also sold in Challenger and Ultra versions. |
| Li-Ning | 赤兔9 PRO / Red Hare Pro 9 | Tempo | Plated, versatile, durable. Outside’s tester calls it his suitcase shoe, the one pair he’d pack. |
| Li-Ning | 赤兔9 ULTRA / Red Hare 9 Ultra | Daily | High-stack (46 mm heel) and very bouncy; better for a clean stride than a sloppy one. |
| Anta | C202 7 | Tempo / marathon | Carbon-plated, developed with Kenenisa Bekele. Chinese stores carry race editions like 广马限定 (Guangzhou Marathon). |
| Anta | C202 G9 2 | Race | Anta’s light racer: Nitroedge 90 foam and a carbon plate, about 6.5 oz. |
| Anta | ZONE 2 90 | Daily | Unplated, soft but quick. The one complaint is outsole wear. |
| Xtep | 160X 6.0 PRO / 160X 6.0 Pro | Race | The line Chinese elite marathoners race in; each version tweaks the plate and stack. |
| Xtep | 青云2.0 / Qingyun 2.0 | Daily (recovery) | Heavy (about 11 oz) and soft, with a small carbon piece under the midfoot; Outside links to it on Taobao. |
| 361° | 飞燃5 / Flame 5 | Race | One of the most stable carbon racers; comes alive at tempo and race pace. |
| 361° | Miro Nude ST | Tempo / daily | Unplated TPEE foam with a midfoot shank; handles 3K to marathon-pace work. |
| Qiaodan | 飞影PB 6.0 / Feiying PB 6 | Race | Plate sandwiched between two TPEE layers; a moderate stack, stable from 8K to half marathon. |
| BMAI | 惊碳3.0 Turbo / Jingtan 3.0 Turbo | Race / tempo | PEBA foam and a carbon plate, with a normal-trainer feel reviewers like; CPU outsole holds up well. |
| Do-Win | Speedster 3.0 | Race | A carbon-plated racer with the plate set low in the foam: firm underfoot and built to last. |
| Dynafish | 小鲶 / Xiaonian | Daily | Unplated super trainer, very light for it. |
Chinese basketball shoes
Chinese brands have signed NBA players for years, and the signature lines are their best-known shoes outside China. As of September 2026:
- Li-Ning: Way of Wade (韦德之道, Wéidé zhī dào), Dwyane Wade’s line, now on the Way of Wade 12; Wade has a lifetime deal. Jimmy Butler has his own JB line. In June 2026, ESPN reported that Stephen Curry signed a 10-year, $400 million deal with Li-Ning after 13 years with Under Armour; his first Li-Ning signature shoe is due in 2027, and he wears other Li-Ning models until then.
- Anta: Klay Thompson’s KT 11 (he signed a lifetime deal in February 2026) and Kyrie Irving’s KAI 3. In Chinese they are the 汤普森 (Thompson) and 欧文 (Irving) series.
- 361°: Nikola Jokić’s Joker 2, his second signature shoe, and Aaron Gordon’s AG 6.
- Peak (匹克): mostly a basketball brand, built around its 态极 (TAICHI) foam, which had sold about 25 million pairs by the end of 2022.
China versions vs international versions
Names. The same shoe often has two names: 赤兔 is Red Hare, 飞燃 is Flame, 飞影 is Feiying. Search Tmall by the Chinese name plus generation number — the English name alone often finds nothing.
Range. According to The Atlantic, only Anta and 361° run their own US online stores, and Li-Ning sells through Amazon US; the others mostly reach the US through third-party sellers, if at all. Even a US store carries fewer colorways: Anta’s US site lists five for the C202 7, versus many more in Chinese stores, including limited race editions.
Price. List prices in China run lower, and Chinese stores rarely charge full list. Anta’s Zone 2 90 lists at ¥699 in China, $115 on Anta’s US site. Li-Ning’s Red Hare Pro 9 has a ¥599 tag in China (¥539 on sale) and sold for $99 on Amazon US in June.
Timing. New foams and outsole materials often reach Chinese shoes before they reach US stores, and brands replace models quickly — check the generation number before you order.
Sizing: go by foot length in millimeters
China’s shoe-size standard (GB/T 43293-2022) numbers shoes by foot length in millimeters: a 260 fits a 260 mm foot. Brand listings include a size chart, 尺码表 (chǐmǎ biǎo), that maps each size to a foot length, 脚长 (jiǎocháng).
Where it goes wrong is the conversion to US sizes, because each brand does it differently. Outside’s tester wears a US 9.5: BMAI matched that to 27.5 cm and Do-Win to 27 cm, and most shoes came out slightly long for his 26.5 cm foot. Measure your longer foot, standing, heel to longest toe, and pick the size whose foot length matches. Watch for 偏小 (runs small) in reviews.
How to buy the China versions from abroad
Buy from the official flagship store
On Tmall, the brand-store side of Taobao, the brand’s own shop is called 官方旗舰店 (official flagship store, guānfāng qíjiàndiàn) — only the trademark owner, or a company with its exclusive authorization, can open one, so it’s the safest place to buy: genuine stock, the current size run, and the brand’s own after-sales policy. Search the Chinese model name from the table above inside the flagship store, and skip other sellers if the price is far below it.
If you don’t read Chinese, searching Taobao in English covers the tricks; the model name in Chinese, copied from the table above, gets you most of the way.
How the buying works
- Copy the product link from the flagship store (the Taobao app’s share text works too) and paste it into Fishgoo’s search box. The shoe opens with its price.
- Pick color and size using the listing’s size chart, and pay with PayPal or another method — no Chinese payment method or Taobao account needed.
- The buying team orders from the store. Shoes usually reach the warehouse 3 to 7 days after the store ships them.
- You get 5 free QC photos of every item before paying for international shipping, plus up to 100 days of free storage to combine orders into one parcel.
- Choose a shipping route after you’ve seen the photos. Duties depend on your country and the value of the parcel.
Shipping shoes: the box is the bulky part
A pair of running shoes is light, but the box around it is not. International shipping is priced by weight and, for bulky light items, by volume, and by route, so several boxed pairs can cost more to ship than their weight suggests. When you submit the parcel, you can remove the original packaging, fold the shoeboxes, or use vacuum packaging to cut the volume — keep the box only if the shoes are a gift or you might resell them. The price shows at checkout.
What to check in the QC photos
- Model and generation. 赤兔9 PRO, not 赤兔8 PRO. The box label carries the article number, 货号 (huòhào) — match it against the listing’s product details.
- Size. The tongue label shows the size; make sure both shoes match what you ordered.
- Colorway. Chinese colorway names can be poetic (流光溢彩 is one Red Hare colorway), so compare the photo with the listing picture rather than the name.
- Workmanship. Glue marks, stitching and anything scuffed. Raise problems before you pay for international shipping; our QC photo guide covers what to look for.

FAQ
What is the best Chinese running shoe brand?
Li-Ning and Anta are the two biggest, with the widest range from carbon racers to everyday trainers. For racing, Li-Ning’s Feidian, Anta’s C202 and Xtep’s 160X are where most runners start. Smaller running-only brands like BMAI, Do-Win and Dynafish make some of the best-reviewed shoes, but they’re harder to buy outside China.
Can I buy Li-Ning products in the US?
Some of them. Li-Ning runs an official store on Amazon US, which is where US runners usually buy models like the Red Hare Pro 9. The full China range, including new colorways, is on Li-Ning’s official store on Tmall, which you can buy from through a shopping agent.
Are Li-Ning shoes good?
Yes. Selemon Barega won the 2025 Seville Marathon in 2:05:15 in a Li-Ning racer, and Outside’s reviewer compared the Red Hare Pro 9 with the Saucony Endorphin Speed 5 and paid $90 for it, shipping and tariff included. The usual complaint is fit: some models, such as the Feidian 6 Elite, are narrow through the midfoot, so check the size chart and reviews for the model you want.
Where can I buy Chinese running shoes?
Anta and 361° have their own US online stores, and Li-Ning sells through Amazon US, but those carry only part of each range. For China-only models, newer colorways and China prices, buy from the brand’s official flagship store on Tmall through a shopping agent.
Are Chinese shoes good quality?
The performance models are. Chinese brands use the same foam, carbon plates and outsole compounds as Western brands, often from the same Fujian and Guangdong factories. Outside’s reviewer ran more than 1,000 miles in 30 Chinese models in 2026 and rated several among the best shoes he’d owned.
Do NBA players wear Li-Ning shoes?
Yes. Jimmy Butler has his own Li-Ning line, Dwyane Wade has a lifetime deal and the Way of Wade line, and in June 2026 ESPN reported that Stephen Curry signed a 10-year, $400 million deal with Li-Ning after 13 years with Under Armour. His first Li-Ning signature shoe is due in 2027; until then he wears other Li-Ning models.
What is the best Chinese basketball shoe brand?
Li-Ning and Anta. Li-Ning has the Way of Wade line and signature shoes for Jimmy Butler, with Stephen Curry’s on the way. Anta makes Klay Thompson’s KT line and Kyrie Irving’s KAI line; 361° has Nikola Jokić and Aaron Gordon.
